The Capability Academy represents the next generation of technology-enabled capability building for individuals and workforces. The Capability Academy puts the focus clearly on improved job performance and building the competency-based workforce.
As the skills needed for the 'workforce of the future' are rapidly changing, having the ability to systematically manage workforce skills is now essential. The Capability Academy is a focused way to support capability building through 'Learning Communities of Practice' ~ skills development ecosystems targeted to the specific skills gaps of individuals and aligning corporate training to prioritised individual skills gaps of importance to the organisation.
This means more effective skills development at lower cost!
Since the early-to-mid 2000’s, corporate learning has undergone fundamental disruption. The advent of the Learning Management System (LMS) with a focus on content and corporate course catalogues saw the emergence of new paradigms for learning. Since then further evolutions have continued to occur.
Progression into applying technology for ‘talent management’ (in an attempt to support the career tracks of employees) became the next step change. At its heart this was an attempt to enable ‘learning as an experience’. The emergence of multi-platform, on-demand, virtual education in early 2010’s through to the 24x7, real-time data-driven learning experiences of today built upon these disruptions. The driver continued to be the development of the user’s learning experience as well as to more effectively support the organisation to build the competency-based workforce.
At the same time, it is clear that as organisations focus on maturing their approach to workforce development (from traditional 'transactional HR' to value creation as a partner to the business), approaches to corporate L&D have lagged. For example, simply providing more learning content (even if curated) and multiple catalogues, albeit through different delivery mediums, does not sufficiently support individuals in their quest for skills attainment. The cusp of the next wave for digital learning is now here – the ‘Capability Academy’.
The Capability Academy redefines the capability-building proposition for both the organisations (with specific competency development needs) as well as the individual learner requiring support for lifelong learning.

The Capability Academy addresses the shortcomings of the previous models by integrating traditional HR and workforce management with the learning management environment. However, to date technological support has not been sufficiently sophisticated to create an ecosystem that has both the required structural and academic integrity as well as frictionless usability.
SkillsLogiQ bridges this gap! Our platform addresses the shortcomings of previous platform capabilities by integrating critical elements of traditional HR and workforce management with a support environment for learning and engagement. Our application ecosystem approach delivers not only a new data-driven approach to skills management but integrating access to academic thought-leadership and resources.
SkillsLogiQ can be configured for three distinct user environments:
Professional Academies (targeted career or professional domain of practice) and will be progressively rolled out;
Organisational Academies (an enterprise solution for workforce capability transformation); and,
Institutional Academies (an institutional solution for alumni communities)
Our technology capability through a Platform-as-a-Service (Paas) model allows us to specifically configure each Capability Academy environment to the exact needs of participants and the degree of readiness and maturity of our corporate clients. This provides targeted support for developing a more capable workforce based on exact skill needs and at lower cost!
